After spending a decade behind the scenes as a makeup artist and stylist, with some of her work finding its way onto the Italian Vogue website, Tanisha was always curious about creating art using the camera. For years she contemplated picking up the camera and perhaps working with her dear friend Pasquale Maria Salerno of Impossible Photos, but never made the effort due to fear. It wasn’t until 2017, when her friend and mentor Sylvia High talked her into taking a few snaps of her for an upcoming conference, that the photography bug caught hold.
The first thing noted was the eye that Tanisha used to style and transform models and brides came through her photos. Without much technical knowledge, she was able to capture light and form effortlessly. And it is with that joy, nay bliss, that Tanisha is mastering the artistic craft of photography. She has been snapping willing participants around the world. From Oakland and San Francisco, to New Orleans and Thailand and beyond, hoping to capture the beauty that she sees in all creation and hopefully opening the eyes of those she photographs, to their own beauty.
Tanisha will be on the island of Koh Pha-Ngan, Thailand from July 12, 2019 – January 1, 2020 and will be available for bookings.
